恭喜苏韵晴及黄晓颖远赴吉隆坡载誉而归,在双威大学 Next Big Question 比赛获得亚军,为州为校争光!
We are thrilled to announce and extend our warmest congratulations to our exceptional school team, Soh Yim Qin of S1Zhong and Rachel Wong Siau Ying of S1Ren, for their remarkable accomplishment as the 1st runner up in the prestigious Sunway University Next Big Question competition for 2023.
This year’s competition revolved around the crucial theme of Planetary Health in Malaysia, focusing on the preservation of our environment and coexisting harmoniously with the rich biodiversity that our nation is endowed with. The dedication, hard work, and innovative thinking demonstrated by Yim Qin and Rachel have truly made Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School immensely proud.
The journey to this remarkable achievement spanned four challenging stages. Beginning with a pool of participants from schools across the nine states in Malaysia, Yim Qin and Rachel rose to the top 20 teams with their insightful research on human-elephant conflict, particularly centered around mitigating the conflict along the lower Kinabatangan and ensuring the conservation of the precious Borneo Pygmy elephants.
The effort was immense, as the duo crafted a research idea and eloquently conveyed it in a 600-word essay, showcasing their analytical prowess and dedication to the cause. Following this, they demonstrated their communication skills by preparing a compelling 3-minute video pitch, engaging the judges and audience alike with their passion for the subject matter.
In the grand finals, Yim Qin and Rachel faced the ultimate challenge as they stood before a panel of esteemed judges and a captivated audience. The question and answer session showcased their depth of knowledge, quick thinking, and ability to articulate their thoughts under pressure, reflecting the thorough preparation and dedication that they poured into their journey.
At Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School, we have always believed in nurturing holistic growth among our students. We not only encourage excellence but also instill the value of enjoying the learning process. Yim Qin and Rachel’s accomplishment stands as a testament to this ethos, and their success serves as an inspiration for all our students to embrace challenges, work diligently, and trust in the process.
The entire school community takes immense pride in celebrating this achievement. We extend our heartfelt congratulations once again to Soh Yim Qin and Rachel Wong Siau Ying. Your achievement shines brightly as a beacon of excellence, and we are confident that your passion, dedication, and commitment will continue to lead you to even greater heights in the future.
