On 15 August (Friday), the Interact Club of our school visited the non-profit organization Bukit Harapan🏠 to deliver supplies and care to children and adults across different races and religions. The visit not only brought donated clothing and food but also filled the space with warmth and joy through heartfelt interactions✨.

Upon entering the shelter, the residents’ beaming smiles instantly melted away any distance between us. Through ice-breaking games, we quickly built connections, and the singing and dancing session that followed lifted the atmosphere to new heights—watching them sing and dance to the music, their eyes sparkling with joy, moved everyone deeply.

The visit concluded amid warmth and reluctance to part. The hopeful looks in their eyes as we said goodbye reminded us that this encounter was only the beginning🌱. Grateful for the emotions stirred by this experience, the Interact Club remains committed to the philosophy of “learning through service,” ensuring that the relay of love never ends🔄.

The residents of Bukit Harapan range in age from 3 to 60 years old and come from various parts of Sabah. Most have lived at the centre for a long time. Among them are survivors of domestic violence, single mothers, the abandoned, orphans, and individuals with physical and mental disabilities, including those with Down syndrome, autism, and polio. The majority have special needs and require long-term care or supervision.
