Ms. Aimée Keatch and Ms. Sian Clifford delivered two interactive workshop with 120 of Senior 1, 2 and 3 Science Stream students.

This unique event brings together innovation and creativity, offering two exciting challenges:

☝🏻Create, Collaborate – Architecture:

In this design carousel, students created new spaces by working in groups. They began by designing the form of their space using wooden sticks, then swapped with another group to use card for creating the enclosure. The final group considered scale and photographed the completed piece. This session also provided tips for creating a successful art portfolio.

✌🏻Catapult Challenge – Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering:

Students gained insight into the application of engineering science through a practical, hands-on team competition. They experimented with a catapult constructed from laser-cut MDF components to understand the impact of various parameters on the distance and trajectory of a ping pong ball. Through this activity, they were introduced to some fundamental principles of engineering.

These workshops gave students a chance to learn, create, and connect with like-minded individuals. They have an unforgettable experience with Queen’s University Belfast today!
